Are You in Love with Life?
When I visited my parents in Singapore, I walked past our neighbour’s plants one day.
The sun was shining brightly and the plants appear to be eagerly soaking it in. They love the sun so much that they grow towards it.
That got me thinking:
How many of us are truly in love with life? Not my life or your life but life itself.
If we were taught that life is beautiful and that life is sacred from the moment we were born, will that give us greater strength to soak it all in?
But what about those born in non-desirable circumstances with the harshness and hateful nature of life, how do they overcome it and soak it all in?
We read stories about people in dire circumstances who wouldn’t give up on life and found ways to embrace it. We also read stories about those who in spite of having everything, life lost its attraction for them.
Truth is, there is no one answer/ therapy/ religion/method etc for it.
Bit by bit, as we share and learn from one another and be supported by collective wisdom, we can fall deeper in love with life.
In the meantime, what I can do that is within my locus of control is to:
What about you? Are you in love with life? What’s within your locus of control to love it more?

Fall Deeper In Love With Life
Reflection
Action
This week’s action is inspired by two quotes that I like lots:
Many people declare that they will follow their passion when they retire or have extra time, and consequently they never experience the exuberance of life.
– Denise Linn
So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things.
– Morrie Schwartz
I invite you to take an hour passion pause. During this one hour pause, consciously do something you love. Not for productivity, not for purpose, just pure joy. It could be sketching, dancing alone, watching bees, gardening, writing a poem, or tinkering with a motorbike engine.
When you complete this hour, reflect on:
Practice for the Week
Choose one everyday moment for example, brewing tea, tying shoelaces, walking past plants and fully immerse in it with all your senses. Do this for just 3 minutes. You can explore:
