You Are Not Your Season

Happy New Year and welcome to The Dream Catalyst Club. Thank you for being a part of our community of positive catalysts and encouragers.

Today for the very first Sunshine Inbox, I like to share with you the story of the Tree of Life.

There is this beautiful magnificent tree outside our place. I was so blessed and privileged to witness it through its four seasons. Winter when the tree was bare. Then you come to springtime where buds began to blossom followed by the lushness of summer. Then the beautiful foliage of autumn before winter arrives again.

As I watched the tree shedding its leaves and then regaining its beauty, it struck me that it doesn’t matter whether it was in its winter period, springtime, summer or autumn – the tree was just as magnificent and beautiful as it is.

It speaks to me and inspired me to create this painting The Tree of Life, showcasing the four seasons in one tree. To me, this painting represents you and I.

In every stage of our life, it doesn’t matter whether:

  • we are experiencing a challenging time or joyous moment
  • we are young or older
  • new to a job or seasoned senior
  • end of a relationship or beginning of one
  • change of a role from one to another
  • life is in tatters around us or we are flourishing

We are not our season.
You are not your season.

You are just as beautiful, strong and majestic as the Tree of Life.

As you begin a brand new year, know that your past and present does not determine your future. You have the capacity to dream all ages.

  • Reframe each experience into a learning one and growth opportunity.
  • Build your circle of champions not naysayers.
  • See each dawn as an opportunity.
  • Recognise that destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice.
  • Be kind and patient to yourself.
